DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED- PERMANENT REVOCATION HEARING
Why is your license revoked? Maybe you failed to pay a ticket many years ago and then got a few traffic tickets while your license was suspended. Or, maybe you failed to appear for court and have since been charged for driving without a license. It may seem hopeless to get out of the cycle of suspensions. It is important to remember that the sooner you work to end the cycle the sooner you can be licensed again.
If your license has become permanently revoked as a result of multiple driving while license revoked (DWLR) charges, or as a result of moving violations while your license was revoked, you may be eligible for a hearing. Generally, you must wait 3 years from the most recent conviction date for a permanent revocation. However, we may be able to get you a limited driving privilege after just 2 years.
The wait period is less if you have had less DWLR convictions and therefore have a shorter revocation time. If you were revoked for 1 year as a result of DWLR, you are eligible for a driving privilege OR a DMV hearing after just 90 days. If you were revoked for 2 years as a result of DWLR, you are eligible for a driving privilege OR DMV hearing after 1 year.
As part of the hearing process you will be required to bring a few witnesses with you to testify that you have not been driving during your period of suspension. Attorney Haddock will prepare those witnesses and will discuss with you who may be a good witness for your hearing.
